Non-Juried Show in Raleigh


All Central Region WSNC members are invited to submit 1 or 2 original works for the upcoming non-juried show titled “COALESCE” at the Sertoma Arts Center.

Located in the heart of Shelley Lake Park, ertoma Arts Center is a fun, creative destination for all ages, offering classes and workshops in painting, drawing, photography, pottery, performing arts, and more, along with exhibitions, studio spaces, group support, and community outreach. Designed to serve as one of the City of Raleigh’s community exhibition spaces, Sertoma Arts Center’s Gallery Program has introduced hundreds of artists to area residents and visitors.

Dates and Cost

The show runs for two months, May and June

ART DROP-OFF: Friday, 4/27, between 9am-1pm and Saturday, 4/28 between 10am-5pm

OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, May 3, from 6pm to 8pm 

PICK UP ARTWORK: 6/29 (between 9am-1pm) and 6/30 (between 12pm-5pm)

The cost for submitting is $15 per one painting or $25 for two paintings, to help defray the cost of the reception and benefit WSNC.  The Gallery shall receive a commission of 25% of the retail price of each work sold.

How to Join the Exhibit

Contact your Central Region Co-Director Lyudmila Tomova at  lyudmilatomova@gmail.com to reserve your spot in this exciting exhibit. Mail your check payable to WSNC to Lyudmila Tomova, 203 Bell Arthur Dr., Cary, NC 27519.  Please email before mailing your payment so that we can share more information and discuss some other details.  

Deadline: Your  registration form and payment must be received by Lyudmila Tomova no later than March 31, 2018.  We hope you will join us in this beautiful show in the heart of Raleigh.

Critiques in Winston Salem


Respectful, instructive critiques help us improve our paintings. Could the design be improved or simplified, do the colors work well together, would this make a good painting to submit to the Annual Exhibit?

  • Free for members
  • $10 for non-members or you can join WSNC for $35, and attend the rest of the critiques for free and much more throughout the year

1-3 pm, on the following 1st Wednesdays 

  • May 2
  • August 1
  • November 7

Each person may bring two paintings for critique, plus  (non-alcoholic) drinks and snacks.

Watercolor Workshop with Sarah Yeoman in Pittsboro, NC

Please consider joining American Watercolor Society signature member Sarah Yeoman for a watercolor workshop in a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere in Fearrington Village. Workshop space is limited ensuring each participant receives individual attention from Sarah! Sarah will lead us thru the step by step process she uses to create her strong colorful darks and shimmering lights no matter what the subject matter. She will show us how to simplify subject matter by creating value studies in pencil, marker or paint. Then move on to color studies and finally to a finished a painting. Perhaps we may even do a bit of Plein Air painting! Learn more about Sarah -   sarahyeoman.com Lite refreshments will be served each day. The Goat at Fearrington Village offers a great place for lunch. Or participants may choose to bring their own lunch to enjoy in studio!

Sessions will be from 10am-4pm on Friday, April 6th, Saturday April 7th, and Sunday, April 8th. In addition to painting lessons on our final day we will enjoy a casual class critique, and a lovely Mimosa Brunch Buffet served at the studio! Sarah Weekend Workshop -  $270 - EARLYBIRD Registration   $300 - After March 16th.  $50 DEPOSIT required  to hold your space.
