What’s a Signature Member/How does someone earn this?
Signature members are recognized as accomplished artists. To earn
this status in the
society a member must have a painting juried into the Annual
Exhibition 3 times.
Signature means that once this status is earned the artist may
write WSNC after their name. WSNC presents Signature Members with
pins that indicate how many times they
were juried into an Annual Exhibition. A new level is now being
honored with a pin - the Master Level is an artist that has been
juried into 15 or more Annual Exhibitions.
How many members are there currently in WSNC?
We have close to 400 members from all over the state of North
Carolina. To make it easier to get to know artists from your
part of the state, it is divided into regions (Western, Central
and Eastern). Regional groups get together for various purposes
like shows, plein-aire, socializing.
How long has the WSNC been around?
The Watercolor Society was established in 1972 and has
been continuous since then.
